USAC Issues Quarterly Report; Reports $300 Million Available for Future Use

The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) reported to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that approximately $300 million is now available from Funding Years FY 2002-2004 for future use.  Based on the FCC's 3rd Report and Order carry over dollars will increase the overall funds available for disbursement.  Every quarter USAC is required to revise their estimates of the unused funds.

 
USAC reported the breakdown of unused funds by year as follows:
  • $100 million from FY 2002
  • $100 million from FY 2003
  • $100 million from FY 2004
 
USAC continues to make it a priority to reduce pending applications from previous years.  As of September 30, 2007:    
  • USAC does not have any potentially fundable applications from FY 1998 - FY 2000
  • USAC has 3 potentially fundable applications from FY 2001
  • USAC has 3 potentially fundable applications from FY 2002
  • USAC has 4 potentially fundable applications from FY 2003
  • USAC has 8 potentially fundable applications from FY 2004
  • USAC has 205 potentially fundable applications from FY 2005
  • USAC has 391 potentially fundable applications from FY 2006
  • USAC has  8,752 potentially fundable applications from FY 2007
