| SLD Commits $640 Million in Advance of Funding Year |

The latest round of funding decisions for FY 2008 brings the total committed to just over $640 million. This week's wave is the ninth since the SLD began issuing funding commitments for FY 2008 on May 1 and brings with it $26.5 million in funding decisions for 822 applicants. According to an analysis by Funds For Learning, this is the most funding that has been committed prior to the start of a funding year in recent years. This week, the SLD also issued funding commitments for the 2007 funding year totaling $34.5 million.
