COMMENTARY
Do you have a favorite season? The kids are back in school and we've all just celebrated Labor Day. Fall is here! Some have looked forward to cooler weather, others to football season. Those of us who work in E-rate are aware of the new season too: it's time to start wrapping up invoicing for the last funding year and to start thinking about seeking bids for the next funding year.

In my capacity as leader of the IT team here at Funds for Learning, Timeliness is a GuideMark that I find to be particularly important to my daily work. Some projects are small and some are big. It is important to start the big projects early enough so that they get done before they are needed most. Lately, I have been thinking about what my group can do to help our customers and our staff during this particular season. Are there some quick changes we can make to our systems to help streamline getting invoicing done? Are there big changes that we can be making now that could pay huge dividends during application season? If so, now is the time for us, as a team to be cracking down on these things.

Anytime is a good time to start thinking ahead. Is it time to start planning for your next tailgate party? Or planning for the upcoming holidays? How about meeting that upcoming invoicing deadline or seeking bids for next year's E-rate services? Whatever it is, keep the time in mind so that you will be ready for what's to come.
