Increased Form 470 Denials Prompt USAC to Modify Practice

In FY2006 USAC terminated the practice of contacting applicants whose Form 470 number did not support the funding request. This change has lead to a considerable upswing in Form 470 related denials. This week USAC issued a decision to revert to its former practice of contacting applicants who have provided an incorrect Form 470 number on their FY2006 applications.

USAC will seek to obtain the correct Form 470 number for the affected applications. Applications denied in conjunction with this procedural change will be re-reviewed without being required to make an appeal to USAC. In order to expedite the review process applicants are encouraged to review their Receipt Acknowledgement Letter (RAL) and submit any necessary corrections even if the three-week time limit has passed.
