FY2012 Form 471 Window Closes March 20

The Funding Year 2012 Form 471 filing window closes at 11:59pm Eastern time today. With just a few hours remaining before the window closes, $2.36 billion has already been requested, and it is anticipated that schools and libraries will ultimately request close to $4 billion.

Due to significantly increased traffic, USAC’s website may be intermittently available or slow during the last few hours of the filing window. Applicants should document any technical issues they may encounter when submitting Forms 471 online through the USAC website today.

FY2012 requests as of March 19 include:

Total requested: $2.36 billion

    Telecommunications: $1.1 billion

    Internet Access: $438 billion

    Internal Connections: $1.17 billion

    Basic Maintenance: $160 million

By applicant type:

    School District: $2.27 billion

    School: $289 million

    Library: $74.5 million

    Consortium: $237 million

It generally takes a few weeks for all of the Forms 471 that are submitted to be populated in the USAC’s Data Retrieval Tool. Funds For Learning will provide a detailed analysis of FY2012 requests once the Form 471 data is complete.
