USAC Commits $3 Billion in FY 2010

For the first time in the history of the E-rate program, USAC has committed over $3 billion in a single funding year. As of March 13, 2012, FY2010 commitments totaled $3,027,735,857.06, with $300 million in requests still pending.

Based on a Funds For Learning analysis, $1.9 billion has been disbursed to stakeholders so far, which comprises 63% of committed FY2010 funds. There are currently 1,756 applicants whose installation deadline is not until September 30, 2012 (with invoicing deadlines of January 28, 2013), so the percentage of disbursed funds is expected to increase.

Since the first funding year in 1998, the SLD has committed $31.9 billion to schools and libraries, $21.8 billion of which has been disbursed.
