USAC Releases Quarterly Report

On August 2, 2012, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) released their quarterly report for the fourth quarter of 2012. In the report, USAC asserts that they have “‚Ķa foundation of processes, systems, [and] procedures” to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse, and are evaluating “additional measures” to help control improper payments to beneficiaries.

On July 18, 2012, the FCC approved the rollover of $1.050 billion from previous years for Funding Year 2012. According to the USAC quarterly report, the $1.050 billion rollover was the entire amount that USAC had available. USAC will report during their next Quarterly Report (to be released on November 2) if there are additional rollover dollars that could be approved for FY 2013.

The quarterly report also highlights the number of pending applications (Forms 471) remaining for each funding year. As of July 31, 2012:
