USAC Announces that $1.5 billion is Available for Future Use

On December 23, 2014, USAC released a report detailing that $1.575 billion is available from previous years that could be rolled over for Funding Year 2015. This is an unexpected report as USAC typically announces potential rollover funds during their Quarterly Board Meetings, and the next is scheduled for January 26, 2015.

The unused funds are from the following funding years:

  • 1998: $4.99 million
  • 1999: $8.44 million
  • 2000: $7.70 million
  • 2001: 27.69 million
  • 2002: $15.20 million
  • 2003: $43.83 million
  • 2004: $20.95 million
  • 2005: $18.61 million
  • 2006: $31.78 million
  • 2007: $19.48 million
  • 2008: $18.46 million
  • 2009: $70.72 million
  • 2010: $377.04 million
  • 2011: $600.28 million
  • 2012: $291.88 million
  • 2012: $18.00 million

The FCC will likely make a determination after the FY 2015 window closes to decide how much of these available funds is needed to cover demand for FY 2015.
