New Form 471 Submitted to OMB for Approval

On October 30, 2015, the Federal Communications Commission submitted a summary of the data to be collected on the FCC Form 471 to the Office of Management and Budget for approval. The information “is being revised to modify FCC Form 471 pursuant to program and rule changes in the Second E-rate Modernization Order and to accommodate USAC’s new online portal as well as the requirement that all FCC Forms 471 be electronically filed.” While no changes were proposed to the FCC Form 470, the FCC also requested extension of the emergency approval period from six months to three years. Comments regarding the proposed changes to the Form 471 are due November 30.
