The FCC has requested comments from the E-rate community regarding the drop-down menu system that is used on the current version of the FCC Form 470, in their effort to reduce confusion and address concerns that have been highlighted by E-rate applicants in recent years. The FCC will use the feedback that they receive from this comment period to develop the format for the Form 470 for use beginning in Funding Year 2021.
The initial comment period will end soon on October 31, 2019. This is an important opportunity for E rate stakeholders to let the FCC know how the Form 470 is used in real-world situations, and what can be improved to meet the needs of both applicants and service providers.
Comments can be submitted electronically to the FCC using WC Docket Number 13-184 with the FCC Electronic Comment Filing System.
