The last day that an FCC Form 470 may be filed to start the procurement process for Funding Year 2023 while allowing the required 28 days for competitive bidding is Tuesday, February 28. As of midnight on Thursday, February 23, applicants nationwide had filed 20,183 Forms 470. The five-year average total Form 470 count is 25,186.
Applicants who cannot meet the February 23 posting date are encouraged to post as soon as they possibly can, run their required competitive bidding period in full, and file a late Form 471 funding application. They may then seek a waiver of the application deadline from the Federal Communications Commission.
