On June 4, 2025, FCC Commissioner Simington announced he was departing from the Commission at the end of this week. In his statement Commissioner Simington noted that, “It has been the greatest honor of my professional life to serve the American people as a Commissioner”. He was appointed by President Donald J. Trump during his first term and has since worked to defend free expression, safeguard national security, and promote infrastructure investment to benefit all Americans.
Throughout his tenure, Simington focused on several key areas:
- Defending Free Expression: Advocating for policies that protect the freedom of speech and expression.
- Safeguarding National Security: Implementing measures to ensure the security of the nation’s communications infrastructure.
- Promoting Infrastructure Investment: Encouraging investments in infrastructure to enhance connectivity and benefit all Americans
