As of January 14, 2026, approximately 12,000 Form 470s have been certified for the funding year 2026. Reviewing historical data from Funding Years 2022 through 2026 reveals that FY2025 experienced the highest number of certified Forms, with a total of 23,976 filings.

Seasonal Filing Patterns

The data indicates a clear seasonal pattern in Form 470 filings. Spring and early summer represent quieter periods with fewer filings. Filing activity tends to increase as late summer approaches, continuing to rise through the fall. The most significant surge in submissions typically occurs between November and February.

Yearly Trends and Peak Filing Periods

A closer examination of the annual data shows that the total number of certified Form 470s remains consistent from year to year. Each funding year from 2022 through 2025 has seen totals ranging between approximately 22,000 and 24,000 filings. The peak week for filings often occurs in late January or mid-February. Notably, FY2022 saw the highest single-week activity, with 2,602 filings during the week of February 14, 2022. While the overall number of filings has slightly increased each year, the number of filings during the peak week has fluctuated, illustrating variations in the timing of submissions across different funding cycles.

FY2026 Filing Forecast

The FY2026 forecast predicts that filings will rise sharply until mid-February. Weekly filings are expected to peak at 1,428 during the week of January 19, 2026. This trend is consistent with what has happened in past funding years, suggesting filing habits are staying the same.
