SLD Funds $92 Million in Priority Two Applications

The USAC Schools and Libraries Committee asked for and received FCC approval to start funding FY 2010 Priority Two applications at the 90% discount level. The SLD notified 1,039 school districts and 463 service providers that their Priority Two projects have been funded.

Conversely, the SLD notified 229 applicants and 100 service providers that their priority two applications at the 90% discount level will not receive E-rate support this year. This totals $27.6 million in Priority Two denials at the 90% discount threshold. There is still over $900 million pending in FY 2010 at the 90% discount rate. To note, last year, the SLD did not fund FY 2009 Priority Two projects until the first week of September.
