USAC Service Provider Call Notes – April 2013

USAC’s Schools and Libraries Division hosts monthly service provider conference calls, providing information and guidance for vendors participating in the E-rate program. Highlights from April 3, 2013 service provider call include:

March 2013 Commitments:

USAC Service Provider Trainings

USAC will hold two Service Provider trainings in May. USAC is requesting that service providers send John Noran (jnoran@usac.org) suggestions for topics that should be covered during the training sessions.

Invoicing Update

Payments for the month of March totaled $140.7 million against $186.6 million in requests. Invoices were submitted by 1,483 service providers, and 98% were processed within 30 days. The top invoice denial reasons for the month include:

SPIN Not Registered

Invoiced After the Deadline

Total Commitment Paid

Billed Outside Funding Year

The call included discussion regarding the submission of invoices prior to the delivery of services.  USAC stated that in most cases, they can only disburse funds for services which have already been delivered; however, in certain contractual arrangements it may be possible to invoice for an entire years’ service at one time.
