The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) announced their 2016 grant recipients. Several schools and libraries were among the recipients. Although not affiliated with the E-rate program, the grants were tied to education technology and broadband connectivity. The projects "...embodied the mission of the Foundation: to enhance the quality and sustainability of life in America by advancing an understanding of rural issues..." It is a best practice among schools and libraries to pursue multiple funding sources for their educational technology needs.
