LACOE Calls for E-rate to Support Cybersecurity

On December 5, 2022, The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) submitted an Ex Parte letter to the FCC urging the Commission to update the FY2023 E-rate Eligible Services List (ESL) to better address the growing and demanding cybersecurity needs for schools. The Ex Parte submission noted that, “Given the seriousness of this challenge facing all K-12 agencies, we respectfully urge the Commission to permit E-rate application in 2023 and beyond to use Category 2 funds for cyber security infrastructure and services.”
