The SLD has released the first round of Internal Connections funding commitments for 2008 as part of funding wave thirteen. The wave, which follows one day after wave twelve, includes a total of $112 million for applicants covering all service categories. The Priority Two commitments portion of this wave totals $83 million. |

The latest round of funding decisions for FY 2008 brings the total committed to just over $640 million. This week's wave is the ninth since the SLD began issuing funding commitments for FY 2008 on May 1 and brings with it $26.5 million in funding decisions for 822 applicants. |

Forty-one applicants in nine states received funding commitment decisions this week about requests for E-rate discounts for the current funding year. Commitments totaling $13.6 million were issued by the SLD this week. This brings the amount committed for the year to $2.38 billion, with just over $539 million remaining to be decided. |

The eighth funding wave for the upcoming E-rate year brings the total of commitments to over $613 million. The 2008 funding year, which starts on July 1, 2008, will be the E-rate program's eleventh since the inception of the program. In this wave, 654 applicants received commitment decisions in which $24 million of funding was awarded. |

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted appeals filed by the State of Arkansas Department of Information Systems (DIS) on behalf of 15 E-rate applicants for FY 2004 and 2005 Form 486, Form 472, and Form 471 applications that were filed after the established deadline. In these specific cases the DIS argued that the late or missed filings were a result of changes in E-rate personnel and confusion with E-rate rules and regulations. |
