The Schools and Libraries Division has provided details of the first funding wave for FY 2008. The wave, which commits $352,633,067.07, includes funding decisions for requests made by 7,251 applicants. This means that an average of $48,636 was committed to each applicant in the wave.

USAC Reimburses $344 Million in First Quarter of 2008

An analysis by Funds For Learning shows that USAC authorized $344,389,205 for reimbursement during the first quarter of calendar year 2008. This includes disbursements made for all funding years as well as negative adjustments to reclaim money into the Universal Service Fund.

$16 Million Committed for FY 2007 in Latest Wave

This week, the Schools and Libraries released a funding wave for Funding Year 2007 which included $16 million in commitments for schools and libraries in 18 states. The wave also included $3.8 million in reductions or rejections of funding requests.

SLD Releases Major FY 2007 Wave

The SLD has released Wave 46 for Funding Year 2007 which includes a significant amount of decisions in the Priority Two service categories of Internal Connections and Basic Maintenance. In total, over $225 million in commitments were made this in wave, which is almost 10 percent of the total amount of funding committed for Funding Year 2007 to date.

Funding Year 2007 P2 Threshold Set at 81%

USAC will begin issuing Internal Connections and Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections funding commitments at the 81% discount rate for Funding Year 2007. The 81% discount rate will mark the final discount threshold for the year as USAC will reject any Priority Two request at 80% or below.

$15.8 Million in Funding Committed

This week, the Schools and Libraries Division has issued the 45th Funding Decision Wave for Funding Year 2007. This wave includes $15.8 million in commitments for nine applicants. In all, 175 funding requests were decided, including 11 rejections totaling roughly $500,000.
