USAC Issues Quarterly Report; Reports $150 Million Available for Future Use

The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) reported to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that approximately $150 million is still available from Funding Years FY 2002-2004 for future use. This past June, the FCC notified USAC that they should carry over $650 million from previous year’s for FY 2007.  Based on the FCC's 3rd Report and Order carry over dollars will increase the overall funds available for disbursement. Every quarter USAC is required to revise their estimates of the unused funds.

USAC reported the breakdown of unused funds by year as follows:
•  $50 million from FY 2002
•  $50 million from FY 2003
•  $50 million from FY 2004

USAC continues to make it a priority to reduce pending applications from previous years. As of June 30, 2007:  
•  USAC does not have any potentially fundable applications from FY 1998 – FY 2000
•  USAC has 2 potentially fundable applications from FY 2001
•  USAC has 3 potentially fundable applications from FY 2002
•  USAC has 5 potentially fundable applications from FY 2003
•  USAC has 81 potentially fundable applications from FY 2004
•  USAC has 210 potentially fundable applications from FY 2005
•  USAC has 451 potentially fundable applications from FY 2006
•  USAC has 24,526 potentially fundable applications from FY 2007
