USAC Approves Lower FY2011 Priority Two Threshold

On April 23, 2012, the USAC Schools and Libraries Committee approved the SLD’s recommendation to begin making funding commitments for FY 2011 Priority Two applications at the 89% discount level. The decision positively impacts 77 applicants, totaling $103.2 million. The FCC must approve USAC’s recommendation before commitments may be issued, a process which generally takes two to three weeks.

The Committee also approved the SLD’s recommendation to deny FY 2011 Priority Two applications at 80% and below. Previously, denials for FY 2011 P2 applications were set at 79% and below. The decision not to fund FY 2011 P2 requests at the 80% level affects 1,355 applicants, for a total of $336.4 million.
