Survey Results Submitted to FCC
On September 11, 2015, Funds For Learning submitted the results of its 2015 Applicant Survey to the Federal Communications Commission. The 2015 survey asked E-rate applicants to comment on a variety of program topics and trends, including technology use, complexity of the process, and anticipated demand for eligible services in the future. Key points from the survey results include:
- 86% of those surveyed were concerned about the impact of the FCC’s phase-out of support for voice service.
- 48% of survey responders have a 1:1 or BYOD initiative to support end-user devices.
- Two-thirds of applicants believe the current Category Two budget cap is insufficient, with 37% of applicants responding that a $250-to-$350 per student C2 budget is needed.
