FCC Planning Another Hurricane Relief

On October 25, 2017, FCC Chairman stated that the Commission is working on an additional E-rate Order to assist school districts and libraries affected by the recent Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Chairman Pai shared a draft emergency Order that would provide further financial support and greater flexibility. This would be the third E-rate Order that pertains to Hurricane affected areas and are covered by federal disaster declarations. On September 15th, the FCC released a limited Order, to assist these institutions with deadlines tied to Program Integrity Assurance and on October 6th, FCC released a Hurricane Relief Order providing additional 150 days to respond to a myriad of deadlines.

FCC Chairman Pai indicated that he hopes to vote on his regulatory relief proposal soon after the other Commissioners have had a chance to review and provide feedback.
