Texas Gov Requests Speedy WAN Decisions

On March 15, 2018, Greg Abbot, the Governor of Texas, sent a letter to the FCC and SLD requesting quick approval of all E-rate requests tied to Category One Special Construction projects. Governor Abbott explained that due to state matching requirements, the $25 million Texas has set aside, will expire on August 31, 2019. 

Nationwide, 253 applicants submitted funding requests that included special construction charges. The total funding requested is $291.2 million and impacts 4,744 school and library sites across the United States. Below is a showing the breakdown of special construction-related projects by state.
