E-MPA Opens FY2025 Funding Year with Policy Insights and Integrity Focus

The E‑rate Managers Professional Association (E-MPA) began Funding Year 2025 with its July membership meeting, bringing more than 100 consultants together for updates on federal policy and program integrity. The session underscored the consulting community’s shared goal of strengthening the E‑rate program so schools and libraries can continue delivering reliable connectivity.

Supreme Court Decision and Federal Outlook

Guest speaker Joey Wender, Executive Director of the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition, provided context from Washington, D.C. on the recent Supreme Court ruling that affirmed the FCC’s authority over the Universal Service Fund. His remarks highlighted the importance of transparent administration and consistent advocacy as the FCC explores future broadband priorities.

Sustaining High Standards

E-MPA members reiterated their commitment to ethical practice and accurate guidance—from filing applications to advising on cybersecurity and digital equity initiatives. As the program evolves, E-MPA’s forums and resources help consultants share best practices and safeguard the interests of applicants nationwide.

Key Dates

  • E-MPA Annual Membership Meeting – Monday, September 8, 2025, Denver, Colorado. In-person and virtual attendance options will be available.
  • AnchorNets 2025 – October 2025, Washington, D.C., featuring a fireside chat with FCC Commissioner Anna M. Gomez on broadband policy for anchor institutions.

Certification Opportunity

Applications are now open for the August 2025 Certified E‑rate Management Professional (CEMP) exam. The exam is available only to consultants from E‑MPA member organizations in good standing who have at least three years of E‑rate experience, including a minimum of two years providing paid E‑rate consulting services to applicants.
