Getting to Know David Mead

What are three words to describe you?
Loud, Particular, Spooky

What are your favorite things to do outside work?
I like reading, watching a good movie and spending time with family, friends and my pets

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
I love seeing people develop. I really enjoy helping other’s identify ways to better their own skills. Brainstorming ways to overcome obstacles in their workday, or gaps in their knowledge. I love the “always improving” mindset everyone has. And I love seeing the group effort to help!

If you could pick one theme for Funds For Learning to turn into a book about the company, what would it be?
How company culture is so important

What is your current favorite TV show and why?
A Bit of Fry and Laurie. It is an old sketch comedy show and is completely random. Additionally, the two actors are a couple of my favorite authors.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be and why (calories don’t count in this scenario)?
Tacos. Because tacos are the best….clearly.

How have you seen one or more of the Funds For Learning Core Values displayed during your time at FFL?
Team player. Early in my time at Funds for Learning, I bugged Todd and Brian Stephens mercilessly. They always made time for me and my incessant questions. This continued when I moved to a management position. Everyone at the management level is very giving of their time, knowledge and feedback. And quite patient with my…incessant questions.

You are a recent recipient of CEMP certification. What advice do you have for future candidates?
Start studying now. Look at the practical application behind the rules/regulations. And use the senior guides for help!
