The Schools and Libraries Division announced Nov. 17 that it has hired Daniel W. Walsh as manager, systems support, effective Nov. 29.
Kate Moore, president of the SLD, said Walsh "will play a critical role in the daily management and big-picture strategy of our technical operations." She added that he will "bring to the table the knowledge necessary to increase technical support to service providers as they participate and seek to participate in the Universal Service Schools and Libraries program."
Walsh, a 30-year telecommunications industry veteran, led the solutions delivery program office of Metamor Worldwide Industry Solutions, a global IT services company. He began his career at AT&T in the days before the company was divested of the regional Bell operating companies. Over the past 12 years, the SLD said, he has specialized in telecommunications customer care and billing.
