SLD Commits Another $70.3 Million

The Schools and Libraries Division has announced that it has made another $70.3 million worth of Year 4 funding commitments.

The latest round, Wave Seven, was the first since the SLD suspended commitments in late September to provide applicants that had already begun using the money to comply with a new Oct. 28 certification deadline under the Children's Internet Protection Act. Applicants now receiving funding commitments will have to file the pertinent Form 486 application within 120 days of their funding commitment letter or the date they started receiving services, whichever date is later.

The SLD has now committed about 70% of the $2.25 billion it has available to commit this year. There was no change in the approved threshold for internal connections.
