Clock Starts for Comments on FCC E-rate Rule-Making

The Federal Communications Commission’s proposed changes in the E-rate program were published in the Federal Register June 20, starting the countdown for the period in which comments on the regulations can be accepted.

Comments on the rules will now be due on or before July 21, with reply comments due on or before August 19. The proposed rules seek comments on several ideas for improving the E-rate program and suggestions for measures to limit waste, fraud and abuse in the program.

Comments can be filed on paper or electronically. Comments should reference the Docket Number of the rule-making, which is 02-6.
