SLD Announces Another Small, Priority-One-Only Wave

The Schools and Libraries Division January 30 announced that on February 3 it will distribute 47 funding commitment letters totaling $6.5 million worth of requests. For the first time in several months, this wave, the 21st, will include only requests for Priority One services, namely telecommunications services and Internet access.

So far, the SLD has approved commitments totaling $1.7 billion for the 2003 funding year, approximately the same pace it met last year. Applicants who do not receive approved funding commitments for non-recurring services until after March 1, 2004 will have until September 30, 2005 to complete those projects with 2003 funding commitments.
