SLD Prepares for Pilot of Online Eligible Services List

The Schools and Libraries Division has provided some information about its upcoming pilot program to create an online database of products eligible for funding as internal connections. Manufacturers will be able to post their eligible products to the database to help E-rate applicants complete their requests for internal connections funding correctly.

Manufacturers that wish to participate must have a SPIN number and must complete a short online enrollment form. The enrollment process will require specific company information that must match the information provided in the company’s most recent filing of the Form 498, the form used to request a SPIN number or to correct company information.

The SLD said it was providing early notice of the pilot program in case manufacturers needed to obtain SPIN numbers. The actual enrollment form will be available in the future. For the full SLD announcement, see http://sl.universalservice.org/whatsnew/2004/042004.asp#2.
