Funding Year 2006 Discount Threshold Set at 86%

The USAC Schools and Libraries Committee held a non-quarterly Board Meeting today to set the FY 2006 discount threshold at 86%.  The FCC will need to approve their recommendation and this should be reflected in the next couple of waves.  The SLD had pending $47.3 million for internal connections and $6.3 million for basic maintenance at the 85% level for FY 2006.  Those applications will not get funded.

This week the SLD committed $14.7 million for FY 2007 and another $3.9 million in FY 2006. The USAC Schools and Libraries Committee also recommended, pending FCC approval, to start committing FY 2007 priority two applications at the 90% level.  This will also get reflected in the next couple of waves.

The SLD released several appeal waves this week.
