The SLD has published the agenda and training presentations on their website that will be used during the Fall 2008 applicant training series. The training sessions will be held in multiple cities across the country this Fall.

The agenda for the day-and-a-half events shows that the audit process will be the focus of the entire afternoon of Day one. The focus on audits is a sign that additional audits may be starting soon, and that the SLD wants applicants to be aware of the process and what to expect if subjected to an audit.

Attendees will choose to attend either "Beginners" or "Advanced" sessions for the morning of the first day. The beginners' sessions include a guide to terms, eligible services, SLD website tour, and application process overview. For the advanced sessions, attendees will learn about state master contracts; consortium review; guidance for special entities; and openings, mergers, and closings.

The morning of day two will focus on program compliance, cost effectiveness reviews, calculating discounts, eligible services, and program reminders.

Applicants attending a training event are encouraged to bring a copy of the presentation materials with them for reference during the training meetings. Copies of the presentations and the agenda can be found at http://www.usac.org/sl/about/training-presentations/training-presentations-archive/training-2008/fall/materials.aspx .
