FCC Releases Public Notice on EDU Pilot Program

The FCC has published the Public Notice which provides additional detail on the E-rate Deployed Ubiquitously (EDU) 2011 Pilot Program application process. EDU will support off-campus wireless connectivity for mobile learning devices.

As part of the FCC’s Sixth Report and Order the FCC authorized up to $10 million for FY2011 for a pilot program in order for the FCC to assess “‚Ķthe merits and challenges of wireless off-premises connectivity services‚Ķ”

The deadline for submitting an application is December 17, 2010.
