FCC Grants 17 Appeals

On July 23, 2012, the Federal Communications Commission granted appeals for 17 E-rate applicants. In one decision, the FCC stated that 16 applicants “have demonstrated that good cause exists to justify waiver of the rule that a signed contract be in place when the FCC Form 471 application is submitted.” In a separate decision, the Commission granted an appeal for La Poynor ISD, who had inadvertently canceled an entire Form 471 when they only wanted to cancel one funding request. The FCC has given the USAC 90 calendar days to process the affected applications.
