USAC Releases 2013 Annual Report

On April 1, 2014 the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) released its 2013 Annual Report.  The report provides the Federal Communications Commission and Congress details about the non-profit company’s activities, expenses, and performance measures regarding its management of the Universal Service Fund programs. The E-rate program is one of four Universal Service programs administered by USAC. Highlights from the report include:

  • The SLD received 1,474 appeals in 2013. This is a decrease of 373 from the 2012 annual report.
  • The average appeal processing time was 74 days.  In 2012, the average appeal processing time was 76 days.
  • USAC processed 1,501,162 invoices and denied 85,292 invoices which is a 5% denial rate.
