On April 1, 2014 the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) released its 2013 Annual Report. The report provides the Federal Communications Commission and Congress details about the non-profit company’s activities, expenses, and performance measures regarding its management of the Universal Service Fund programs. The E-rate program is one of four Universal Service programs administered by USAC. Highlights from the report include:
- The SLD received 1,474 appeals in 2013. This is a decrease of 373 from the 2012 annual report.
- The average appeal processing time was 74 days. In 2012, the average appeal processing time was 76 days.
- USAC processed 1,501,162 invoices and denied 85,292 invoices which is a 5% denial rate.
