FCC OIG to Provide E-rate Program Reform Recommendations

On June 10, 2014, the FCC Office of Inspector General (OIG) released their semi-annual report to Congress, which covers activity from October 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014. Much of the OIG’s work is tied to “investigating and supporting civil and criminal prosecutions” of fraud in the four Universal Service programs.

The OIG plans to offer the FCC recommendations to reform the E-rate program and will provide a “vulnerability assessment/risk analysis” that will be released next reporting period (April 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014).

The Semi-annual Report can be viewed here.
