E-rate Provides $55 Per Year Per Student

Over the past three years, the federal E-rate funding program has provided an estimated $55.23 annually per K-12 student.
Internet access, data connections and telephone service have averaged $36.80 per student. On-campus computer networking (i.e. internal connections, basic maintenance, and managed wi-fi) have totaled $18.43 per student.
 
Note: This average is calculated based on all public school students. It does not include private school enrollment. The dollar amounts include support provided to libraries. The total dollars are based on estimates of the actual dollars to-be-disbursed to applicants in FY2016 and FY2017 based on demand and historical utilization rates.
