On April 17, 2018, the SLD released their FY 2018 Demand Estimate which was set at $2.77 billion. This highlighted the dollars requested on the FY 2018 Form 471 on or before March 22, 2018 which was the application window time frame. However, on April 30, the FCC released a Public Notice in which they approved FY2018 filing deadline waiver requests for 178 applicants totaling an additional $28.7 million.
