SLD Publishes Oct. Board Meeting Details

On November 6, 2018, USAC released further documentation from the October Schools and Libraries Committee Meeting. Each quarter the USAC Schools and Libraries Committee meets to discuss important E-rate issues and provide guidance and support to the Schools and Libraries Division at USAC. USAC is recommending to the FCC that the FY2019 Form 471 Filing window starts no earlier than January 10, 2019 and close on or after March 20, 2019. USAC will announce the official filing dates once the FCC formally approves this recommendation.

Over the course of the past year, the Committee has previously released their briefing book after each Quarterly meeting. A briefing book is a document that provides background information, statistics, and program updates, useful for program stakeholders. Briefing book does exclude all materials discussed in Executive Session. USAC intends to continue to identify trends “that require attention” and one of USAC’s key objectives is to bring the improper payment rate down to below 2%. In FY2016, which is the last date USAC has published the improper payment rate estimate, the improper payment rate was estimated at 4.34%.
