FCC Grants CA Regulatory Relief

On January 3, 2019, the FCC released an Order waiving certain E-rate deadlines to school districts, libraries and service providers negatively impacted by the 2017 California Wildfires. The Commission is waiving the following deadlines and affected applicants and service providers will have 90 days from the effective date of this Order to submit any of these filings:
  • Requests for review or waiver of decisions by USAC, directed to USAC or the Commission;
  • FCC Form 486
  • Form 472
  • Form 474
The FCC is also waiving the document retention rules, however, upon request by USAC or the FCC, will be required to certify that the records were destroyed by the wildfires. The FCC mentioned that besides Funds For Learning’s comments in support of the California Waiver Request, the FCC did not receive any other comments.
