FCC Chairman Ajit Pai participated in a White House event to promote U.S. leadership in 5G deployment on Friday, April 12. Chairman Pai intends to create a Rural Digital Opportunity Fund which will “inject $20.4 billion” into broadband networks over the next decade and focus on rural America. The funding will come through a reverse auction to service providers later this year. The FCC has recently launched a 5G Fast Plan in which Chairman Pai highlighted at the White House event.
