On June 11, 2021, in their weekly news brief, USAC’s Schools and Libraries Division, announced that, next month, it will be removing the requirement for applicants to use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the Billed Entity Applicant Reimbursement (BEAR) form. USAC’s new system for granting applicants access will be referred to as the BEAR Access Tool, “…an internal tool that will process requests for BEAR Form access more efficiently, communicate our decisions more quickly, and also eliminate the need to maintain a record of a USAC-issued PIN…”
