Second Opportunity to Further Support Unmet Needs

Last week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced a second 15-day Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) filing window for School and Library purchases made between July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. The second ECF filing window opens September 28 and closes October 13.

We urge applicants to leverage the ECF program to help close the Homework Gap. The second ECF filing window presents an opportunity for schools and libraries to further take advantage of ECF program to support unmet needs for off-campus remote learning during the COVID-19 emergency period. The initial filing window received requests for $5.1 billion to fund 9.1 million connected devices and 5.4 million broadband connections. An additional $2 billion is available to fund eligible equipment and services.

Do you have questions about ECF? Join Funds For Learning  as we host a Webinar on Thursday, September 2nd at 11am EST, to discuss the upcoming ECF filing window as well as next steps following the close of the initial filing window.
