Do You know Where Your Appeal Is?

The Schools and Libraries Division has completed action of most of the approximately 1,500 appeals it received for funding commitment decisions it made in the 1998 funding year. The SLD has distributed another $16.7 million worth of funding commitments for about 400 appeals that were accepted. Most of the rest of the appeals were rejected.

A small number of appeals have been referred to the Federal Communications Commission because they involve policy decisions. The SLD is now in the process of contacting that group of applicants. If an applicant has not yet received a new funding commitment letter or a rejection letter, it should contact the SLD to determine the status of its appeal. Applicants should send an e-mail message to Mickey Revenaugh, the SLD's vice president of outreach, at mrevenaugh@universalservice.org.
