Pace of Funding Commitments Slows

The Schools and Libraries Division issued another $55 million worth of E-rate funding commitments Aug. 4, less than a quarter of the amount it had managed to commit the previous week.

That brings the total committed for Year 3 to $1.4 billion, or about 62 percent of the $2.25 billion that the SLD can commit. The threshold for approved internal connections remained the same as last week, at a discount rate of 83 percent.

Commitments in the latest wave of 630 letters, Wave number 17, averaged about $87,000 per funding letter.
