SLD Releases New Guidance on Priority One “End-to-End Service”

In response to requests from a wide range of E-rate stakeholders, the Schools and Libraries Division has posted additional guidance regarding 'On-Premise Priority One Equipment for End-to-End Service." Equipment installed at a school or library that otherwise would be classified as Internal Connections may qualify for E-rate support as a Priority service under certain conditions if the service provider owns the equipment and uses it to provide an end-to-end telecommunications service or Internet access. The new reference material describes this special category of service in more detail, outlines the eligibility requirements, and explains how the SLD evaluates these types of requests. In addition, the SLD provides illustrated examples of acceptable and unacceptable 'end-to-end" configurations. The new information may be found here.
