SLD Releases Another $47 Million in 2002 Commitments

The Schools and Libraries Division announced April 18 that next week it will distribute another $47 million worth of 2002 funding commitments to 95 applicants. The letters will cover Priority One services and Priority Two services for applicants with discount rates of 81 percent and above. The SLD is still reviewing requests for internal connections support from applicants with discount rates of 80 percent. Applicants who receive approval for one-time costs in this wave will have until September 2004 to complete those projects.

The SLD plans to begin issuing funding commitments for Priority One services for the 2003 funding year before the end of April. The 2003 funding year starts on July 1, 2003.
