SLD Distributes $84 Million More in Commitments as 2004 Funding Year Approaches

The Schools and Libraries Division announced that on June 30 it will release more than $84 million in funding commitments for the 2004 funding year. This 6th wave applies to Priority One services only and represents almost 18,120 funding commitment letters to E-rate applicants. SLD staff members indicated that the agency may issue additional waves of 2004 Funding Year commitments dated June 30 early next week.

With this wave, the SLD will have committed more than $355.6 million, or about 16 percent of the $2.25 billion it is authorized to disburse for the 2004 funding year. July 1 is the start of the 2004 funding year.
