The Schools and Libraries Division is now accepting data submissions for its Pilot Eligible Products Database. The SLD suggests that manufacturers already enrolled in the pilot program submit their data by August 31. For manufacturers that have not yet registered, the SLD reports that there is still time to do so. The FCC established the Pilot Program in its Second Report and Order to make it easier for E-rate applicants to determine what equipment is eligible in the internal connections category. After this pilot program is evaluated, the SLD database may be expanded to include services in other categories. The SLD expects to have this database available for use sometime this fall.
Each product entry will include the product name, a product description, and an indication of the type of product (such as router, PBX, file server, etc.).Further details are available at http://www.sl.universalservice.org/vendor/epd_pilot/prod_info.asp.
